Sierra Nevada Corporation Systems Engineer II in Centennial, Colorado

SUMMARY:The Systems Engineer reports to the Program Manager on the program he/she issupporting and works in concert with the technical lead andfunctional/discipline engineering teams (mechanical, electrical,stress, etc.) in execution of the program. The Systems Engineer isresponsible for decomposition of requirements, generation and allocation ofspecifications, control documents, plans and reports in support of thedevelopment. The Systems Engineer supports programs from the early phases ofprogram capture through integration and test. The Systems Engineer should haveintimate knowledge of the product technology and a good working knowledge ofthe associated engineering disciplines.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Support programs in defining systems architectures for ISR applications onaircraft. Familiarity with IMINT, ELINT, SIGINT payloads and systems,as well as aircraft avionics systems.Work closely with the technical lead and program manager in developing theEngineering Program Plan (EPP)Lead the program efforts to interpret customer requirements and decompose theminto design requirements and constraintsDevelop system/subsystem specifications, control documents, verificationand validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation insupport of design and development activities as well as certification andvalidation requirements.Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customerquality, cost and schedule requirementsEnsure that all specifications, designs and developments adhere to SNCstandards and customer requirementsProvide support in the development and maintaining of configuration baselinesfor systems and sub-systemsWorks well in a collaborative, team environmentADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Follow SNC policies, procedures and work instructions for all technicalactivitiesPunctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such asTime Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews,Succession Planning, etc.Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team trainingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementSNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only.
