Position Details

Job Summary

Responsible for provisioning, deploying, administering, monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, upgrading and patching of Information Technology resources and services in current Microsoft Windows Server and Services platforms including Hybrid cloud. Able to accurately and clearly document processes, procedures, system configurations and specifications. Exhibits solid analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the capability to learn and retain new technical competencies.

Ability to multitask. Ability to work effectively alone and in team environments. Responds effectively in a timely manner in a variety of situations. Able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them efficiently. Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior in working with confidential and university information. Understands different work styles, conflict resolution techniques, office etiquette and demonstrates the ability to interact with employees and stakeholders in a positive, productive manner. Stays abreast of new technologies and technical methodologies.

Minimum Education and Experience

No degree – Four years recent applicable experience. Associate Degree with two years’ applicable experience. Bachelor’s Degree with some applicable experience. Recent knowledge of Windows System Administration.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum 1-year experience in corresponding products and technologies. Knowledge of vulnerabilities and systems patching. Troubleshooting methodology and awareness of industry standards. Problem solving skills. Good communication skills. Strong technical documentation and organizational skills. Level 1 support experience or better (scale 1-3 with 3 being a senior specialist).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Expected areas of expertise and duties will include current proficiency in a majority subset of the following:

  • Installation, configuration, updating, performance monitoring and troubleshooting of Windows server and service environments.

  • Development and administration of task and report automation.

  • A thorough understanding of Windows Server and Service resource provisioning including access control models.

  • Ability to develop, troubleshoot, modify, catalog, document and update scripts including PowerShell.

  • PowerShell and native UI experience with Office 365, Exchange, AD DS, Azure AD, System Center Suite, SPO, Groups and Teams.

  • Build, catalog and present detailed process documentation and instruction.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Information

On-call availability for quickly responding to and resolving system emergencies, both during regular and off-hours. Emergency on-call availability 24×7×365 Perform other duties as assigned Sitting for extended periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as servers, switches, computers, and peripherals. Visa sponsorship is not available.
