EEO/AA EmployerPOSITION SUMMARY:BandD Consulting Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to work with our Government customer to deliver industry standard solutions that integrate with the current environment. The ideal candidate will have experience configuring, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting appliances, servers and other hardware infrastructure. An active DOD Clearance is required to for this role. The Systems Engineer will operate out of a classified lab at the government site where he/she will be responsible for engineering, testing and deploying solutions per the program's needs. These solutions must meet DOD security standards prior to deployment while optimizing performance and reliability. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture for the both the lab and production environment, installing and administrating systems, applications, and processes to ensure all issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. The environment includes Linux and Microsoft-based (virtual and physical) servers and workstations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES):Engineering new solutions to meet programs requirements by planning and implementing IT enhancements and leading IT optimization projects.Maintaining complex server enclaves, including establishing system scanning procedures, vulnerability management assessments, and active directory configurations.Identifying and correcting hardware and software issues.Responding to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems and developing re-work solutions.Creating and maintaining documentation of the environments to ensure that clear, concise and accurate information is readily available for incident resolution.Lead working groups that providing technical direction for system administrators and Engineering groups.Communicating with users and external support personnel regarding system outages and upgrades, and conferring with upper management regarding recommended resolution options.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environmentApplying STIGs to Windows servers, Linux server and DNS (BIND) serversConfiguration and administration of Server 2008R2, Server 2012R2, and Server 2016Configuration and administration of Exchange 2010/2013Configuration and administration of SCCM 2012 r2Experience with enterprise Level patch management (WSUS/SCCM)Configuration and administration of Large Scale AD DeploymentGroup PoliciesConfiguration and administration of VMware ESXi 6.0Configuration and administration of Microsoft HyperV 2012Configuration and administration of SAN technologiesConfiguration and administration of Microsoft Certificate Server (PKI)Experience with integrating DoD Public Key Infrastructure with Active DirectoryConfiguration and administration of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012Must have experience providing assistance to users and optimizing system operationsMust be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures.Must have experience in or familiarity with the following systems: Windows/Linux operating systems, and Networking: Switches, Routers, LANs and cabling.Excellent written, oral communications and organizational skills.Experience with MS Project, Power Point, Word, Excel and Visio.Ability to Multi-taskREQUIRED CLEARANCE:Must be a U.S CitizenActive "Secret" or "Top Secret" clearanceMust be able to pass a national background investigationQUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:5 years of professional experience or B.S. / B.A. in Computer Science or Information Technology (IT)Active Security + (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days)NIPRNet and SIPRNET ExperienceActive Microsoft Administrator Certification (MCSA)Active VMware certification is a plusMust have an active U.S. PassportWORKING CONDITIONS:Physical Demands: This position is sedentary, exerting up to 50 pounds of force
