Role Summary:

This is a cross functional discipline and considers the technical needs of business/customers to build quality products. They design and optimize requirements to define the system and verify they are executed from concept to operation. Positions requiring understanding of a concepts, methods and procedures (technical Bachelor’s Degree).

Essential Responsibilities:

Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance. Manages product requirements and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product, including system level testing. Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component teams. Manages interface between components and doing organizations. Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system (manages the how). Executes routine analyses using vested methods and technologies and/or contributes to technological developments in teams under supervision. Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards collecting or giving technical information. Works within a team setting and / or under guidance. Alternatively: executing routine but complex analysis.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Work closely with cross-functional teams in requirements gathering and software design

• Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms

• Managing design evolution across multi-generation product releases

• Leveraging technical and clinical depth to work on business initiatives aimed at innovation and quality excellence

• Developing subsystem designs and applying in-depth knowledge of product related technologies, technology platforms, architectures, engineering design principles and advancements


  1. BS Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering

  2. 5+ years of more progressive responsibility and experience as an engineer or scientist

  3. 3+ years of experience in system tools and calibration design and development as an engineer

  4. 5+ years of experience in US/Probe device development as an engineer or scientist

  5. Legally authorized to work in Hino, Japan with full-time

  6. Demonstrated ability to building cross-functional relationships including strong influential and communication skills

  7. Demonstrated understanding/experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle and cross-functional interdependencies

Desired Characteristics:

  1. Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

  2. Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and process
