Primary duties include a daily battle-rhythm of checks on both Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux systems and network communication devices to include patch management activities in both test and production environments. Will perform engineering analysis of current configuration and proposed configurations to ensure compatibility and Cyber Readiness within the overall system. Will assist in daily reviews of systems to ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly as well as execution of daily/weekly system health checks/checklists.
Will apply experience with networking protocols and networking equipment. Will assist in managing a mix of Windows and RH Linux operating systems along with various NAS and SAN storage devices including, but not limited to, EMC ISILON and other specialty arrays.
Will be required to coordinate efforts with work center personnel to prevent mission critical test and production schedule impacts on lab systems and supporting infrastructure. Will also be required to assist with engineering support documents that represent proposed changes through the a Configuration Management process and Change Advisory Boards.
Primary duty hours fall between 0730 and 1630 (CT) with on-call and after-hours work required to assist with maintenance activities. May require limited travel.
Bachelor's degree in related field such as information systems, engineering, etc or equivalent experience. * Minimum of eight years related experience. * Valid DoD Secret security clearance
Must have a DoD 8570 Level 1 certification at minimum
Must have experience managing Windows and LINUX servers/systems, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster practices.
Strong communication skills also required.
Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
*Applicant must be a self-starter requiring little or no supervision.
Desirable to have experience with system audit log reviews as well as continuous security monitoring using legacy LEM, HBSS, SCAP, and ACAS. Working knowledge of PKI, RSA, and other forms of multi-factor authentication.
Desired experience with Windows Server 2012/2016 file/system storage administration, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.x, file system backup utilities, SCCM patch management and system auditing techniques.
Experience with Raid file system management, including Vtrak E830f and J630s Raid arrays, NAS and SAN techniques in support of Windows and Linux cluster computing and Network Backup Devices is desired.
