Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission-oriented Ground System Engineer (GSE) looking to realize the rewards of maintaining an innovative and complex system for a program located in North Yorkshire, England. The principle duties include working as part of a team who repair and provide maintenance on various vintages of Digital and RF equipment. This person must be able to work in a structured configuration control environment and have familiarity with fiber optic communication systems, RF modulation/demodulation and RF/Digital BIT error detection.
The principle duties also include:
Working as part of a team performing routine and emergency maintenance
Troubleshooting anomalies, preparing status reports and providing recommendations for maintenance improvements
Performing system, sub-system, Line Replaceable Unit troubleshooting and repair
Maintaining required standards, procedures, ICD’s, compliance and configuration control standards
Supporting the integration, installation, test and documentation of new and/or modified capabilities into the system
Providing training to operations and maintenance personnel for new installations, special test events and anomaly recoveries.
Strong technical communications skills including technical documentation and proven ability to work as a member of a diverse team
Candidate must also be able to satisfy the following physical demands:
- Ability to work on elevated structures at heights of 100 feet
- Able to climb stairs (300 stairs/day)
- Ability to work in narrow and confined spaces
- Ability to lift and carry 45lbs (20 kgs)
A two year overseas tour commitment is required
A comprehensive overseas compensation package is offered with this position
BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) plus minimum 5 years of electronic systems experience.
Understanding of RF modulation/demodulation.
Must possess an active and current Top Secret/SCI clearance with SSBI and current polygraph.
Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
Experience with test equipment to include but not limited to, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and BIT analyzers.
