This position is within the Product Engineering Braking Business Unit, Customer Application & System Engineering Department, Electric Park Brake Group.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead application product DVP&R test responsibilities for Electric Parking Brake, which include:

  • Oversee/execute product testing, data analysis, product teardown, and preparation of test reports

  • Defining and documenting requirements, test procedures, and specifications

  • Create test specifications for new components/systems that meet internal/external requirements

  • Create test fixtures/equipment for product testing

  • DVP&R creation and management

  • Analysis of pre- and post-test parts

  • Coordination of test planning and timing

  • Oversee and manage specialized test equipment including test script creation, test operation, and equipment maintenance

  • Manage/support supplier component engineering test processes and delivery

  • Interface with internal stakeholders & program teams

  • Meet requirements of the business policy manual based upon TS16949 quality system (where applicable)

  • Prepare and give presentations on analyses performed

  • Customer interface and support, as required


  • Minimum of bachelor degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering or related field, masters degree preferred

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of automotive product engineering experience preferred, working in product development preferred with a preferred focus on vehicle braking systems

  • General lab instrumentation and calibration skills required (load cells, torque cells, pressure transducers, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems)

  • Familiar with CAN and vehicle networking architectures preferred

  • Experience with LabVIEW, DIAdem, MATLAB, Visual Basic scripts, and Vector CAN products preferred

  • Familiar with OEM component design and release for vehicle mechatronic and control systems or related embedded controller electromechanical systems

  • Knowledge and experience in mechatronic testing, data analysis and data manipulation experience

  • Knowledge of design review process

  • CATIA and/or SOLIDWORKS experience preferred

  • Experience/knowledge of mechatronic principles, fluid power/hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems cb

Education Requirements Bachelors Degree in Engineering required
