Position Title Research/Administrative Coordinator, Materials Engineering Requisition Number 8591 Job Overview The Dynamic Characterization group of Professor Mitra Taheri (http://drexel.edu/materials/research/groups/dcg/) within the Materials and Engineering Department is seeking a Research/Administrative Coordinator to oversee, actively monitor and maintain administrative operations related to on-going research efforts within the Dynamic Characterization group. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. At least 3 years of research administrative experience. The candidate should be a self-starter, able to work independently, and ability/experience with writing technical papers. Applicants should have high attention to detail and superb written, communication and organizational skills. Posses a knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic accounting principles. Knowledge of Drexel's systems (Coeus, SmartSource, Web*Financials and Banner) is a plus. This is an administrative/technical position that does not incorporate involvement in research or publications. Essential Functions -Provides administrative support to PI, including but not limited to: reporting to government and other funding agencies; grant submissions (responsible for structuring and layout), electronic journal submissions, internal payroll and hiring submissions and monthly purchasing card reconciliations. -Maintains an adequate knowledge of the purchasing systems, policies and procedures. -Work with the PI to assess budgetary activities and develop productivity levels sufficient to meet time constraints established for procedures and projects. -Routinely monitor, update and edit the research group's website. -Orders laboratory supplies as needed. -Operates, evaluates and monitors lab improvement. -Works harmoniously with direct supervisor (PI), students, post-docs, ...
