Senior Systems Engineer - Storage Virtualization
Provide technical systems support to customers and sales personnel on current and future product lines. Provide troubleshooting leadership during customer installation and upgrades. Ensure quality-testing procedures are established and maintained.
Provide engineering support to sales organization throughout the sales process
Make recommendations for customer systems based on information obtained; upon receipt of information contact customer to explain recommendations and answer any questions or concerns.
Creation and review of detailed Statements of Work outlining projects and tasks to be completed for clients
Meet with leadership, managers and account managers regarding account status, ongoing issues and opportunities
Design, install, support and document customer environments from small business to enterprise size deployments
Complete Projects on time and budget, while meeting client expectations
Analyze problems, research probable solutions and provide network redesign suggestions as needed.
Contact customers regarding defective or damaged product returns.
Maintain necessary industry certifications as outlined by management
Identify and recommend areas for improvement through ISO processes
Provide support after hours as necessary to complete client projects
Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Bachelor degree or equivalent career technical certification.
Minimum of five years technical experience, with proven technical management ability.
Build, install, configure, maintain VMware ESXi 6.x servers, vmClusters, Virtual Center System Appliances
Experience managing private cloud environments as well as developing highly available virtualization environments including defining monitoring standards, operational procedures and growth plans required
Ensure virtualization systems are compliant with security standards
Experience with additional VMware tools (e.g., vRealize Operations, View, Site Recovery Manager) a plus
Technical competency with identified hardware platforms preferred: Dell, Cisco UCS, Lenovo, IBM and HPE
Experience with Enterprise storage technologies i.e. Nimble, Equallogic, NetApp, EMC preferred
Storage Concepts including NFS, iSCSI, and fibre channel storage for both Microsoft and VSphere
Experience with network technologies, including VLANs, NATs, Virtual Switches preferred
Experience with Veeam backup solutions
Knowledge of various OS related functionality including, but not limited to Backups, Capacity Planning, Disaster Recovery, and File System Management.
Knowledge and experience working with Active Directory, Windows Server 2008R2/2012/2016.
Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineers who support a variety of projects and customers.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
Experience in network engineering and/or technical support.
Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the job and the company core values.
Ability to travel and work after hours
Minimum of Cisco Associate Level Certification
Microsoft MCP,MCSE or A+ certification preferred
VCP (Strongly Preferred)
